Our Area Guidelines serve to assist the NA groups within our area to fulfill their primary purpose as outlined in Tradition 5.
Our 5th Tradition States
- To provide services to addicts that the groups cannot themselves realistically provide. (These [subcommittee] services will be elaborated on in this document).
- To serve as a central point of discussion and decision-making for our area.
- To serve as a conduit of information from our groups to the Fellowship ofNarcotics Anonymous, as a whole.
- To be mindful of how our actions and decisions may affect our neighboringNA areas and the Fellowship of Narcotics Anonymous.
NA, as such, ought never be organized, but we may create service boards or committees directly responsible to those they serve.
Each group has but one primary purpose—to carry the message to the addict who still suffers.
